We Survived the Harry Potter Ship Wars. Ask Us How?

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

No, really--ask us! Find out about the infamous Ron/Hermione vs. Harry/Hermione shipping wars from two who were on the front line. From the origins of ship names to the live ship debate at Nimbus 2003, this panel will either give you combat flashbacks to "the good old days," or have you laughing at the ridiculousness of snarking, trolling, pointing, and laughing. Sock puppeting and weeks-long debates about the exact usage of semicolons and Quidditch World Cup seating arrangements, all over the romantic pairing of three fictional teenagers. On a deeper level, we will also talk about how shipping and theorizing affected our opinions of the books, as expectations were fulfilled or dashed with each new book release, and how those experiences still shape our fandom today-- and how we managed to "survive" as Harry Potter fans through it all. Whether you are wanting to relive old times or find out what you missed out on, this panel will certainly be worth your time!
